Videos of the Science Outlook Conference now available

The annual AFBI Science Outlook conference took place on Wednesday 24 March 2021. The conference discussed future challenges and opportunities facing food production and environmental sustainability.

What was featured?

Reflecting on the recent scientific research and what investment and incentives are needed to stimulate further innovation, AFBI introduced keynote speakers in internationally renowned scientists including Professor Miles Carroll from Public Health England, Professor Joao Ferreira from Longline Environment Ltd and Professor Fiona Doohan from University College Dublin.

The event took place over three sessions throughout the day, streeamed on the AFBI YouTube channel. These sessions explored the interactions between animal and human health, environmental modelling and management to enable future sustainability, and the role of plants and their production in our food system.

AFBI was delighted that Minister Poots will introduce the conference and throughout the day AFBI’s partners, including QUB, CAFRE, UFU, FSA and DAERA will take part in the event through panel discussions focusing on the vision for the future of Northern Ireland’s food systems and the environment.
