For the first time Northern Ireland hosted the Meeting of the European Federation of Animal Science.

Over 1500 national and international delegates gathered in the new Waterfront Conference Centre in Belfast to hear about the latest developments in animal science, and the ways it can help with animal production.
The theme was 'Livestock Systems and Science' and the four-day event featured 53 presentations from AFBI scientists on many areas of interest inculding, for the first time in the EAAP’s sixty seven year history, a session on aquaculture.
