These new varieties have performed particularly well in Recommended List trials showing an improved herbage yield and enhanced nutritional quality. The commercial partnership on forage breeding with Barenbrug has been in existence for 22 years, resulting in a portfolio of almost 30 forage grass varieties which are widely used on farms throughout the UK and Ireland.  These improved varieties have made a major contribution to the productivity and profitability of grassland farms.
