The Board of AFBI is seeking a dynamic, innovative and visionary leader who is capable of inspiring AFBI staff to achieve its organisational vision and contribute to addressing global challenges in society, the economy and the environment, as well as industry and customers in an ever more efficient and effective manner.
Candidates for the position should have ability to lead a scientific organisation of 650 staff and £55 million revenue. They will have proven experience of leading multidisciplinary scientific excellence, strong financial management skills and credibility with a diverse range of stakeholders in the agriculture, food, fisheries, environment and academic communities. The appointee will have well developed communication and relationship-building skills with industry and government and the necessary commercial acumen to implement a policy of growth in internationally recognised research and development.
