AFBI continues to conduct environmental monitoring of freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems, both at a regional scale and as part of wider UK environmental change networks.

Projects

Environmental monitoring carried out by AFBI includes:

  • Agri-environment scheme monitoring
  • UK Environmental Change Network (ECN). This is a long-term ecosystem monitoring and research network for freshwater and terrestrial habitats.  It is designed for the detection, interpretation and prediction of long-term environmental change in relation to factors including climate change and pollution.
