Ammonia emissions are inherent to livestock-based agricultural systems where manure management is required. As outlined on previous pages, AFBI Hillsborough have taken steps to reduce ammonia emissions and improve the Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) on the farm. The implementation of further ammonia reduction strategies are also being planned. To better understand the emission of ammonia from AFBI Hillsborough it is important to set the context for this through the presentation of farm productivity data, i.e. the production of animal produce, energy and other farm outputs.
