A Lunchtime Seminar was held in AFBI on 9th March by Kerry McGarvey (Catalyst Inc – formerly NI Science Park), Programme Manager of INVENT 2017 competition. Joining her was Dr Paul Watts (AFBI) who reached the final stage of the competition last year with the AFBI ‘Purple Magic’ Potato.
Kerry introduced the various elements of the INVENT 2017 Competition, an annual event that showcases and rewards local innovations that promise the greatest potential, making special reference to the agri-food category which is particularly relevant to AFBI.
Dr Paul Watts, of AFBI Loughgall, outlined his experience of the 2016 competition taking his Purple Magic potato all the way to the final in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.
