Biography

Marios Zachariou studied economics and specialised in environmental economics, before starting a PhD at Queen’s University Belfast. His PhD research entailed using revealed and stated preferences methods to understand the demand and preferences for green infrastructure improvements in a local hospital while conducting field experiments to explore economic behaviour. He joined Afbi’s economics research branch in March 2020 to assist in developing models for recreation and land use in Northern Ireland while exploring the methodological aspects of economic valuation.
