Biography
Catherine Glass is a Senior Agricultural Economist in the Environmental Economics research group. Catherine obtained a BSc. in Economics and PhD in Agricultural Economics from Queen’s University, Belfast.
Recent and current research include:
- Cost-benefit analysis and process evaluation of a cross-border catchment management scheme (see sourcetotap.eu)
- Barriers and solutions to the provision of blue-green infrastructures within the Carlingford catchment
- Study of how behavioural economics can be used to enhance the development and uptake of agri-environment schemes
- Field study exploring farmer and stakeholder attitudes to results-based agri-environment schemes
- Economic analysis of measures to improve water quality as required by the Water Framework Directive (NI Water Regs 2019)
- Survey of farmers in Derg catchment to examine behavioural change with respect to land management practices and to explore strategies to tackle water quality challenges
