Pesticide residues
AFBI is investigating the impact of food preparation and processing on pesticide residues. Research funded by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on the impact of preparation and processing on pesticide residues and their metabolites in fruit and vegetables has led to the FSA making recommendations to consumers on the benefits of peeling, and the limitations of washing and processing, on lowering the risk of exposure to pesticides in these commodities.
